Domestic Abuse Consultant
Ada Ibezi is the founder and CEO of Against Domestic Abuse (ADA), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) whose aim is two-fold. Firstly, raising awareness about Domestic Abuse through training and public speaking, and secondly, supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse to thrive.
She is an award-winning International Speaker, a Domestic Abuse Consultant, a Domestic Abuse Community Ambassador and a qualified Freedom Programme Facilitator. She is a Thriver after her own lived experience.
Presenter, Facilitator and Panel Member for Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)
She works alongside the Metropolitan Police Service (the MET) as an expert Speaker, Facilitator and Panel Member on Domestic Abuse as part of the MET’s Community-Centred Learning Project for the New Met for London.
She trains new Police recruits, Police Detectives, Frontline Leaders (Sergeants) and Mid-Line Leaders (Inspectors). The aim is to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and its impact to drive home the importance of Police Officers giving timely and correct responses when Survivors report Domestic Abuse and also to highlight the need for Survivors of Domestic Abuse to have positive interactions with the Police to encourage the breaking of the culture of silence surrounding Domestic Abuse.
She is the Chair for the Metropolitan Police Service’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Independent Advisory Group (MPS VAWG IAG).
Member of the BAME Domestic Abuse Partnership Forum Croydon (BDAP)
Before founding Against Domestic Abuse, Ada had 17 years of experience in teaching and leadership roles in schools across three continents, where she developed and led teams of different key stages.
She is also the Founder and CEO of FitAfrica Warriors, a holistic fitness and well-being organisation whose main focus is providing Afrobeats Dance Aerobics to women and girls only, in a safe and non-judgmental space.
Domestic Abuse Trustee for KidsOut UK, a charity founded on the principles of providing fun and happiness for disadvantaged children.
She was a Trustee and the Director of Education for Prime Cornerstone Afro Initiative (PCAI) - a Pan-African NGO based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Due to her passion for Education, she raised awareness of school-aged out-of-school children from underprivileged areas in Nigeria. She successfully developed, implemented and led the Back-to-School, Stay-in-School, Complete School (BSC) initiative and provided specialist education advice for the education focus area.
Ada holds a BA (Hons.) in International Marketing with Spanish, a PGCE with QTS from the University of Lancaster and an MA in Education, Health Promotion and International Development from University College London Institute of Education (UCL IOE).
Member of the Croydon VAWG Network & Hestia's Winner of the 'Volunteer of the Year' Award 2023
She works, voluntarily, for the charity, Hestia - the largest provider of Refuges (Safe houses) for women and children in London and South East England - as an Afrobeats Dance Facilitator to promote fitness and well-being amongst women in Refuges and as a Better Lives Forum (BLF) Member - a Co-production group, where she has worked with various teams including the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Prevention, Co-production, Corporate Partnerships, Operations, Fundraising and Communications.
She is an active member of various groups across the VAWG Sector including the Croydon VAWG Network, the BAME Domestic Abuse Partnership Forum Croydon (BDAP), the Christian Network for Ending Domestic Abuse (CNEDA) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.

She has appeared as a guest speaker on BBC Radio 4 about Child Poverty, which raised awareness about the impact of the Cost of Living Crisis on children, who had been affected by Domestic Abuse. Her story of fleeing Domestic Abuse and her call for the government to act was also featured in the Evening Standard.

Ada is a fitness enthusiast, who loves Nigeria, African fashion, writing and performing Spoken Word, photography, meeting new people and learning new things. She speaks fluent Igbo - A Nigerian language, English, conversational French and beginner Spanish.
She is passionate about education, raising awareness of domestic abuse and supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse.
